The Committee of citizen Surveillance and monitoring (CCSM) participated on the last Friday, July 19, of the environmental monitoring of the AIJC Expansion Project. This tour was carried out with the purpose that they can monitor compliance with environmental and social commitments during the work that has been going on.

The CCSMis made up of neighbors who were elected by the leaders of their respective locations to be part of this committee. They have been previously trained to be able to carry out the monitoring and develop the necessary analyzes to raise the information to the competent entities. 

A total of 6 representatives from the Direct Influence Area of the project, from the towns of Las Fresas, Bocanegra Sector IV,  25 de Febrero, urbanización popular Valentín Paniagua, Juan Pablo II and La Taboada participated. The committee members were accompanied by LAP staff, Amancae consortium and representatives of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), Callao Provincial Municipality and CERTIMIN. In total, 4 points were visited by theCCSM. The first two were found within the area of the Extension Project land, in which they were explained how the monitoring of environmental noise and groundwater level is carried out.

After that, they visited two points outside the concession area, specifically located in the towns of Santa Rosa and 200 Miles. There they were able to verify the monitoring related to air quality and noise. This committee is very important for LAP because this way the neighbors of the airport can verify that they are fulfilling the commitments of the Modification of the Environmental Impact Study (MEIA) in a transparent way. As part of the Social Management Plan of LAP, this type of initiatives motivates and commits to develop the Expansion Project within the highest quality standards.
